The acomodador or giving-up point: there is always an event in our lives that is responsible for us failing to progress: a trauma, a particularly bitter defeat, a disappointment in love, even a victory that we did not quite understand, can make cowards of us and prevent us from moving on. As part of the process of increasing his hidden powers, the shaman must first free himself from that giving-up point and, to do so, he must review his while life and find out where it occured. – Paulo Coelho, The Zahir
I can’t say how much I admire Paulo Coelho, not for being such a genius and producing life-changing Books & Stories, but for being so humble and showing us that life really happens to us as much as we create it.
I’m in love with “the Zahir”, I can’t wait to read it, and I push it as much as possible not to finish the book.

The Zahir — Paulo Coelho
Last night at a nice, good fire with my brother and my friend, I stubbed on the Acomodador! Whenever I read Paulo, I’m ready to be faced with a genius thought and some very deep words that would take me on a journey on its own. Maybe years in the past, maybe a couple of weeks, maybe a new idea that joins the many that already dwell in my head, maybe a new string that connects the dots and gives clarity, or even a journey to the future to fantasize about everything and nothing.

Nevertheless, with him, you are always on a real adventure and must be prepared for everything!
With that said, I found the Acomodador and drifted away….. into so many dimensions and things.
Phhhhuuuu – the point of giving up!
I remember the one final game in the 5th grade immediately. I came back from Germany to Kosovo, our home country, a new place with so many people and family who knew me, but I never knew.
I was 10 or 11 and immediately had to accustom myself to the new universe I was in. Nothing was the same as I used to.
From the German structure to this mess. Everything was destroyed and rebuilt at the same time. There was so much love, but also so many problems and dangers in all of this mess.
I join a new school and became the “German”. I was “die beste Futballspieler“, and everyone cheered me.
So long story short, in the finals of middle school, my class, the fifth graders, against the 8th graders, 5vs5 small football.
Driblings were made, passes were thrown, and goals were scored on both sides. Goals were withdrawn, and swearing was allowed, all these in an 11-year-old world. A finale from the storybook, drama full. I even think the whole school was watching the game, and no classes were held on a sunny morning. → at least in my world-view :)
What a game, me shining on every move, David vs Goliath, the three years younger „German“ leading the fifth graders to the finals. A draw match after 20 Minutes, so penalties it is. And as fate wants it, I have the final shoot, deciding our fate.
I strike the iron, and we lose. But it wasn’t that we lost, our story was gone. The fifth graders didn’t make it. I was responsible for that. That was my Acomendador. That brought doubt in me forever, playing big games with great audiences. As soon as the audience went too big, I didn’t bring it.
No matter whether it is the final or a game of the afternoon. In the normal games, I was God on the field, before too many people, nothing.
I was the living Zeno effect!

Remember playing Super Mario Bros. 3 as a kid (okay, maybe as an adult, too) and encountering Boos? The sneaky ghosts…

That was the point of giving up, slowly but constantly, on my dream of being a great player.
But it also goes on the other way:
I was in the fifth grade again and was in love. Hair to toes, I lived to see her. Venera 😍 a girl from my class and with whom I shared the way home from time to time. One day I decided to pull it off!
I decide to tell her that I love her and she should become my girlfriend.
I love you. Do you want to become my girlfriend?
I don’t know if made the whole sentence, but I remember she started to run off to her home. She was sprinting, not running 😂😂😂
Fuck my life!
You can imagine how the rest of the days, and weeks went until the summer holiday! No more smiling, no more going home together, no more talks. The summer came, and I was rescued; the next year, everything became normal again.
But Here we go again, “The Acomodador”, but on the other way now! That moment defined me; I swore to myself: I would never let this happen ever again to me!
The rest is history 👋I learned the game so well; I was so good that it turned into a numbers game for me.
She is just another one. Tina, Bina, Rina, Sina they are all the same.
It took me years, a Wife, a Family, a Son, too many times being in love, a few too many times heartbroken, and a lot of reflection to heal this one.
……. the draft ends here!
